Privacy policies that defines who we are
TABLE OF CONTENTS
a. Data You Provide to Us
You have the option to provide us personal information when you use our service. Details such as your name and contact details, as well as financial information (for example, to pay for services via the Mzwriters platform or to receive payments), may be required in order for us to complete and submit tax returns. In addition, when you use the Service, we may gather data about how you use the Service and combine it with data about other users. Doing so allows us to better serve you in the future. If you would want to add a friend or contact to a chat room, for instance, you may also provide us information about them. Information on Freelancers connected to the Agency may also be sent to us by the Agency.
What follows is a list of the kinds of personal information that we may get from you, depending on our connection with you:
- Identifiers: Name, Date of Birth, Social Media Account Information, Profile Data, IP Address
- Contact / Profile details
- Email Address, Home Address, Billing Address, Phone Number
- Confidential Information / Government Issued Identification Numbers
- Driver’s License, State Identification or Passport Number, VAT Identification Number, Tax Identification Number
b. Anonymous Data and De-Identified data
Information Collected That Is Both Personally Identifying and Anonymous: While Mzwriters may store both personally identifiable information and non-personally identifying information, we will handle the combined data as personally identifiable information.
Personally Unidentified Data: In order to make it unreasonable to associate such data with you, we may combine it with other data and remove any personally identifiable information (“De-Identified Information”). The “We Use Information We Collect” section below explains how we may use De-Identified Information. Except to verify our de-identification procedures or as mandated by law, we will keep and utilise De-Identified Information in its de-identified form and will not make any effort to re-identify the information.
c. Automatically Obtained data
Your usage of our Services will cause us to collect technical information, as is the case with most online businesses. By using these technologies, we may better understand how our users interact with the Service, enhance its functionality, remember your login details for future visits, and provide you with ads that may be of interest to you.
Mzwriters and its affiliates utilise “cookies” and other similar technology to do things like monitor user behaviour throughout the site, desktop app, and mobile app, as well as to compile aggregate demographic data. Cookies, web beacons, and embedded scripts are some of the technologies that Mzwriters uses to automatically gather information from its users. We may also use third parties to carry out these functions on our behalf, and our marketing partners, affiliates, analytics, and service providers may employ a number of other technologies (such tags) to gather comparable data for the purposes of security and fraud detection.
d. Third Parties Competing with Analytics Providers and Ad Servers
To better understand how users interact with our Site, we may collaborate with advertising agencies and third-party partners who use analytics tools. In order to provide you with ads that might be of interest to you, these suppliers may use certain technologies. Some interest-based advertisements may allow you to choose not to receive them.
Ad networks, ad agencies, analytics service providers, and other vendors are just a few of the ways in which Mzwriters collects and uses data about our users’ interactions with our Service, such as the pages they view and the actions they take while on the site. These vendors also help us display our advertisements on other websites, in mobile apps, and elsewhere online, and they give us insight into how people use our Service and how effective our ads are. As you navigate the Service and other websites, our third-party service providers may store information about your activity, use tracking technologies (such as cookies and web beacons) on your device, and then use that data to display ads that are more relevant to you. When you use the Service or any of these other websites or services, any of these parties may get personal information about you. In relation to the services they provide us, we may also disclose some Non-Identifying Information, including Hashed Information, to third parties. In the event that you would choose to decline interest-based advertisements from participating businesses. To make your option effective, you need to click the “opt out” button on every device and browser you use. Please be aware that even after you opt out, you may continue to get ads, however they may not be as relevant.
e. Signals and GPC on Do Not Track
Keep in mind that you may be able to configure your browser to send a “Do Not Track” signal to the websites and services you use when you go online. When a “Do Not Track” signal is received by Mzwriters’s servers, it is not common practice to change our operations.
To let websites know how you feel about ad trackers invading your privacy, you may utilise the Global Privacy Control (GPC) technological standard. The Site’s functioning may be affected if you enable GPC; nevertheless, we automatically respect the GPC signal in your cookie choices on a per-browser basis.
f. Little ones
Users must be 18 years old or older to utilise the Service. If you are under the age of 18, we will not intentionally collect any personal information from you. We shall make all reasonable attempts to remove any personally identifiable information belonging to a child under the age of 18 from our records if we learn of such a disclosure. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are a parent or legal guardian of a child under the age of 18 and you are concerned that Mzwriters has acquired Personal Information from your kid.
The following are some of the ways in which we use the data we gather from you: to enhance and run our service, to create new features and updates, to fulfil your requests, to fight fraud, to match you with relevant ads and information, to ensure our compliance with legal requirements, and in any other situation where we have your permission.

In order to evaluate your bid to work as a freelancer for Mzwriters and compile relevant reports using internal and external data.
In order to prevent or stop activity that we deem to be illegal, fraudulent, unethical, or legally actionable; to secure the safety of the public or any individual; to enforce and comply with the law, which may involve conducting an investigation; or to protect the property and rights of Mzwriters or a third party. To further identify Mzwriters Users, we may additionally make use of Device Identifiers.
In Order to Keep Our Promises Made to You in Our Contract. The majority of the time, we handle users’ personal data in order to fulfil our commitments to our investors or to fulfil user requests in the lead-up to a contract.

Users of Mzwriters
Clients, agencies, and Mzwriters payroll freelance writers may have access to the personal information of freelancers who have signed contracts with us or who have chosen to participate in Mzwriters Payroll. We may share the information of Freelancers with the relevant Client(s) if they use the Service to browse a job posting or submit a proposal. We may share the information of freelancers with clients, agencies, partners, and developers if they have made their profiles publicly viewable.
Keep in mind that we may tell any clients who have hired or commissioned a suspended freelancer from Mzwriters about their suspension. Additionally, we may disclose information to the agencies that Freelancers are working with on a certain project.
In order to complete the transaction or assist in resolving a problem or dispute, we may share your information with other parties involved in the service contract or with whom you have agreed to use Mzwriters Payroll. Without your explicit approval, the user obtaining your information cannot use it for reasons unrelated to the transaction, such as contacting you for marketing purposes.
We may work with third-party service providers and individuals to help us run the Service, provide the Service, process payments, identify and prevent fraud, manage databases, provide web analytics and online advertising, assist with service maintenance, enhance Mzwriters’ features, or analyse the Service’s usage. Analytics firms, advertising partners, payment processors, identity verification firms, security firms, generative AI firms, and other vendors may all fall under this category of service providers. So that they may carry out these operations on our behalf, these outside parties may need access to your Personal Information.
Collaborators in Generative AI
By incorporating reliable generative AI service providers, we improve certain aspects of our Service. These generative AI service providers may get the data you provide while utilising these features and any other data needed to use them.
In cases when Mzwriters utilises this data to power features, we make use of data treatments that are suitable for the feature. This may include, for example, deleting personal information first and only utilising publicly available data.
Either you may choose not to use the feature in question or you can opt out of generative AI features in general if they involve a service provider and utilise personally identifiable information you supply to them.
As a consequence of the Service’s two-sided marketplace, platform information belonging to both parties involved in an engagement is generated. For instance, a freelancer’s work history includes client job posts, client spending is a component of their income history, and client reviews are intrinsically about the freelancer. Consequently, our generative AI features may be powered by the platform information linked to a user’s account, which includes the data mentioned earlier. However, this can be limited depending on the other party’s preferences.
Purposes Related to Law and Investigations
Under some circumstances, such as when responding to legitimate requests from public authorities to address matters of national security or law enforcement, or in relation to the reporting of profits, Mzwriters will provide information to government agencies as required by law. In order to follow the rules and ensure compliance, we work with public and private entities, including law enforcement.
Your personal information may be shared with government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we see fit. This may include responding to claims or legal process, such as subpoenas, or complying with the request of governmental authorities or third parties conducting an investigation. We may also disclose your information if we believe it is necessary to (a) protect the rights or property of Mzwriters or another party, (b) ensure the safety of the public or any individual, or (c) prevent or stop any activity that we believe to be illegal, fraudulent, unethical, or legally actionable.
Company and Internal Transfers
For business and operational reasons, including IT management, Mzwriters may share information with its parent company, Mzwriters Inc., and any current or future subsidiaries or affiliates. This allows them to offer you services or enhance the Services we offer. As part of any merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of assets (including, in each case, as part of the due-diligence process with any potential acquiring entity) or in the event of bankruptcy, we may sell, transfer, or otherwise share some or all of our assets, including your Personal Information.
Unless you tell us otherwise, we will keep your data for as long as it’s required to do so, which may include meeting accounting, reporting, legal, regulatory, or other reporting obligations, preventing fraud, ensuring data backup, or ensuring business continuity.
You have the right to request that we not share your personal information with third parties or use it for targeted advertising, among other things. It may be possible for residents in some areas to designate an authorised agent to make requests on their behalf. By contacting us as described in the “Contact Us” section below or by filing a request online, you or your authorised representative may ask Mzwriters to respect these rights. You may also choose not to get location-based ads here.
Inclusive Policy: When you exercise your right to privacy, we will not treat you unfairly.
Acknowledging Your Pledge: Requests pertaining to personal information may only be made by you or someone you have given permission to act on your behalf. Please ensure that your request for access or deletion can be verified before we can proceed. You must give enough information to allow us to fairly confirm that you are either the individual from whom we obtained personal information or someone authorised to act on your behalf in order for us to fulfil your request for verification. In order to process your request, we will only use the personal information you have supplied in a verified manner. Without proper identification or authorization, we are unable to fulfil your request or provide any personal information to you. If a request is too many, too recurrent, or obviously baseless, we have the right to impose a fair price or simply not to fulfil it.
While we take several precautions to ensure the safety of your information, we cannot provide a 100% assurance.
In order to keep the information it gathers and keeps on Mzwriters Users safe, Mzwriters takes appropriate precautions. We take reasonable precautions, including those of an administrative, technological, and physical nature, to prevent the loss, misuse, modification, unauthorised access, disclosure, or destruction of the personal information under our control.
While we and our service providers are based in France, they may use data centres in other countries to handle and store your information.
Your personal information may be transferred to a third party by Mzwriters to a country that does not provide an adequate level of protection for data subjects’ rights and freedoms, or to a jurisdiction that is different from the one from which your personal information was collected. In accordance with our responsibilities under relevant data protection laws, we will exercise caution before transferring your personal information to a third party. If we do decide to transfer your information to another jurisdiction, we will make sure that the recipient is bound by contractual obligations to take reasonable precautions, including using appropriate technical and organisational measures, to prevent the unauthorised or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, or damage to your personal information.
You may find connections to other websites on our Service. A third party’s website will be loaded into your browser if you decide to click on their link. Just because we provide a link to another website doesn’t mean we support or approve that company’s views on data privacy or security or that we are associated with them in any way. Third party websites are outside our control. When you visit these other websites, they may gather data, use your personal information, or install their own files on your computer. If you want to know how other websites handle your personal information, we recommend reading their policies.
